Although galvanized metal has more advantage in resisting corrosion, cleaning galvanized metal is still a necessity.Galvanized metal is a type of steel that has been coated in zinc oxide. The zinc’s function is to protect the metal from corrosion, oxidation and the eventual weakening of the metal. Materials needed:
Hot water, clean cloth, dishwashing liquid, soft bristled brush, white vinegar, metal polish or paste wax

Procedures:

1. Wash the galvanized metal with water. This process will help you eliminate sand and debris that can scratch the metal when you give it a full wash.  This will also help prevent corrosion to the metal.
2. Mix ¼ cup of dish washing liquid in a gallon of hot water. Hot water can improve the efficiency of soap when cleaning galvanized metal and can remove dirt quicker and easier than cold water. Using a soft bristled brush, rub the metal surface in circular motions. Start at one end and cover the whole area until the metal is all cleaned.
3. For difficult to remove stains, make a solution of water and white distilled vinegar and scrub the area using a soft cloth. White vinegar is a mild acid and is extremely helpful in cleaning hard water stains from galvanized metal. To use it in a different manner, the vinegar solution can be poured into a spray bottle to apply it to a huge area.
4. Then rinse this off carefully with hot water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Ensure that no soap is left on the metal.
5. Apply a light coat of metal polish or paste wax to the dried surface of the galvanized metal to guarantee that it remains shining and spotless through the years. Place the wax directly using a lint free cloth and cover the whole area in a circular motion. Once you are finished coating the metal, polish it using another soft, clean cloth and see how the little scratches have vanished.

Warning:
It is not advised to use abrasive cleaners on galvanized metal because they dull the galvanized metal surface. As much as possible, do not also use commercial “hard-water” cleaners because they have high levels of Hydrochloric acid (HCI) which can melt the zinc oxide surface coating on galvanized metal.
